This tempting, concentrated yet well-structured wine packs abundant black cherries, black olives, rosemary and dark chocolate flavors into a velvety, strong frame of tannins and subtle acidity that holds it rather tightly. It should drink best from 2028-2040.

From Oak Knoll, the 2020 Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon Gaspare Vineyard is inky in hue, offering up hints of cassis, mocha and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and intense, it's a big wine, but one that's not overdone, although it does lack a bit of nuance and elegance.

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Gaspare Vineyard comes come the southern end of the valley (Oak Knoll) and reveals a vivid purple hue as well as attractive notes of ripe red and blue fruits, spring flowers, and leafy herbs, with a kiss of background chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, it has notable mid-palate depth, chalky tannins, and a good finish.
