Conca is a beautiful site in La Morra awash with morning light. The Fratelli Revello 2016 Barolo Conca reveals the tight and delicate texture that is a signature of Nebbiolo cultivated in this special corner of the appellation. The tannins are tamer here, and the wine is silkier and softer overall compared to the other wines in this portfolio. Conca is accessible and forward, and for that reason, I would suggest a medium-term drinking window.

The 2016 Barolo Conca is attractive, but it is also a bit forward. Sweet tobacco, mint, dried cherry, licorice and spice are all suggestive of a wine that will age on a relatively fast curve - an impression that is further reinforced by the wine's light-bodied structure.

The shy nose eventually reveals mocha, toasted oak and underbrush aromas. The bracing palate offers sour cherry, clove and dried sage alongside grainy, astringent tannins and the heat of evident alcohol. Drink after 2023.
