The 2022 Pouilly-Fuisse Sur La Roche ler Cru comes from white limestone stool. Very mineral driven, quite tensile on the nose, this is less immediate than the Les Crays, tempting you with its gunflint scents. The palate is poised on the entry with fine tension, not as powerful as the Les Crays and maybe it just tapers in a little on the finish. Still, this is an admirable, very engaging and perhaps more nuanced take on the vintage.
