Coming from a vineyard on Pritchard Hill, just across from Colgan, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is a bigger, dense, powerful wine that stays incredibly elegant and seamless. Blue fruits, crushed stone, sagebrush, and gravelly earth are just some of its nuances, and it's full-bodied and uber-concentrated, with building tannins and wonderful length. It's another sensational wine in the lineup that will benefit from short-term cellaring yet evolve for two decades.

Adversity's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is all Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 337 from a vineyard on Pritchard Hill above Colgin's property. Huge waves of black olive, blackberry and black cherry appear on the nose, but they're all nicely proportioned and balanced overall. This is a full-bodied, ripe wine, but it's still a bit edgy, firmly tannic and structured, with a long, dusty finish.
